I love animals and I’ve been a volunteer for, and supporter of, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and FixNation for many years. Best Friends is the country’s largest animal sanctuary and they have extensive programs in Los Angeles. I got involved with Catnippers, their free, bi-monthly spay and neuter program for feral cats in Los Angeles. Karn Myers and Mark Dodge, founders of Catnippers, started FixNation in 2007. FixNation is the first, full-time spay-neuter facility in Los Angeles offering free spay and neuter services for homeless cats. I’ve seen thousands of cats given the chance to live healthy lives, and a few of them even made it into my home (foster failure).
